Houston, We Got Our Guy

by Mike Basile

The Delaware Thunder Professional Hockey Club made a splash, signing Houston Wilson from Stevenson University. Houston brings speed and scoring to an already dangerous Thunder forward group. In the 2019-2020 season, Wilson scored 8 goals and added 10 assists at Stevenson. CEO/Owner Charles F. Pens Sr. stated, “I have coached Houston since he was 15, when we won Hockey Night in Boston National Championship, even then I knew he was a very special player. Houston brings so much skill and speed to the offense and will be a threat every time he is on the ice. I have watched him develop from travel, to prep, to juniors, to college and now I expect nothing less at the professional level. Houston is a class kid who comes from an amazing family, and it was a long winding path, now he is back home where it all started. Look for great things from Houston.” Wilson can’t wait to get started with the Thunder and had this to say, “I am extremely excited and grateful for the opportunity to join the Delaware Thunder. Charlie Pens has been a great mentor to me during my career, and I couldn’t be more excited to be able to fulfill my dream of playing professional hockey for Coach Santini and Coach Pens. I also look forward to playing in front of the best fans in the league and helping the Thunder become the top team in FPHL.” The Thunder continue to bolster the lineup as the season approaches!
