Up to Danville We Go

by Mike Basile

After a disappointing weekend at home, the Thunder hit the road to take on the Danville Dashers. These two teams met earlier this season at the Thunderdome with each team taking a game. The Thunder will head out to the Midwest looking for a weekend sweep of the Dashers.

Tale of The Tape

Danville Dashers- (18-11-0-1-3) 59 Points 2nd in the West

Delaware Thunder- (8-22-0-0-0) 24 Points 5th in the East

Players to Watch

Danville Dashers:

 Fred Hein- 26-19-45 points

 Nick Gullo 3-15-18 Points

Delaware Thunder:

Eric Masters- 2-11-13 Points

Evan Mackintosh- 5-7-12 Points

The Delaware Thunder will use their short-term memories to forget a weekend where they lost 3 straight to the Watertown Wolves. Some positives the Thunder can take away are they found out Sebastian De Massa Carlsson is a very good goaltender in this league. He played phenomenal Sunday afternoon making key big saves for the team. Eric Masters has also been playing great hockey for The Thunder. Masters is a key contributor in the defensive zone and is not afraid to throw his body around. Delaware will need a team effort in order to take down The Danville Dashers.

The Dashers are also coming off a tough weekend down in Columbus. The River Dragons got the better of the Dashers Friday and Saturday. The Dashers have a two headed monster in goal that has been a huge part of them climbing the ranks to second in the west. Jesse Gordichuk and Harley White both have over 92.0 save percentages and sub 2.9 goals against. With these two in net it seems the Dashers can win any night. Danville and Delaware meet Friday night at 7:05 PM CST.
